Dango is one of the more popular rice dumplings of Japan. They are made from sweetened mochiko or Japanese rice flour. There are actually a lot of varieties of dango across Japan. One of the more popular is the anko, where red bean paste patties are served on top of the dango skewers. The chadango is the green-tea flavored dango. Denpun dango is made of potato flour and baked with sweet beans, which has originated in Hokkaido. Kuri dango is the one coated with chestnut paste. The goma dango is the one with sesame seeds.
