One of the most loved pork dishes from Japan is the tonkatsu. This breaded and deep-fried pork cutlet can be served as fillet or as loin. It is often accompanied by shredded cabbage, while some try them as sandwich fillings. A more tastier version would be the tonkatsu curry. When tonkatsu is served in a bowl of steaming rice with some eggs, it becomes katsudon. In Nagoya, there's the miso katsu, a tonkatsu meal served with a miso-based sauce. There are also other food variations like the chicken katsu, the ham katsu, the gyu katsu or the beef katsu, and the menchi katsu or the minced meat katsu.
