Anmitsu is a traditional Japanese dessert which started during the Meiji era. But this dessert is still popular up until now.
Anmitsu is made with anko and agar. It is usually topped with sweet red beans, fruits, and mochi. It is best when black syrup or anmitsu, made from brown sugar, is poured on top before eating. In some cases, kinako is what they serve with the dessert. A vanilla or matcha flavored ice ice cream is also perfect on top. But any flavor of ice cream that you like will do.
This Japanese dessert is perfect to be served during a warm weather.
