These lovely artworks made from sugar are simply too beautiful to eat. In Japan, there is a specific art or craft for sculpting these sugar creations. It is called the amezaiku or lollipop art. The main material used in this kind of art is the taffy or a soft and maleable candy, almost similar to toffee. The taffy is then colored, depending on the requirements of a certain design or artwork, and then sculpted use tweezers, scissors and the artistic tender hands of the candy maker. Speed is essential in this craft because the taffy solidifies and hardens easily.
