If you’re a fan of anime, you have probably seen the hime or princess haircut.  This is a hairstyle that has a full front fringe, and a sharp side fringe that falls on the cheek. The hair is usually very straight and black. It was popularized during the Heian Period, where women wore their hair very long.

In the modern times, the hime cut fashion trend can be seen in style of Jigoku Shoujo's Ai Enma, Kikyo of Inuyasha, and Yuko of XXXholic. Followers of the gothic lolita subculture can also be seen wearing this style. Meanwhile, it is also making waves outside Japan through Korean celebrities.

The haircut can be a little hard to manage if one does not have naturally stick-straight hair. But with the advent of modern hair styling tools, a hair iron can easily help with that problem.
