Takahiro Gonno, the designer of the XPARTYS fashion label, said that he always ran out of socks during his photo shoots for his brand. Here was when he decided to create those socks instead. The socks were created with an international market in mind so Gonno combined the Japanese-style tabi socks and shirts.

Some of the best selling Erimaki Sox designs are Solid Type, Tartan Check Red, Lace collar and Trump Embroidery. The Solid Type design is a shirt type of socks designed for men and women. It costs 3,300 yen. The Tartan Check Red is the checkered version of the solid type. The Lace Collar design is a pair of white socks topped off with lace around the ankle. This design is especially catered to the frequent consumers of Erimaki Sox which are idols and cosplayers of Harajuku.
