Dip dye hair looks in Japan are not done with the common colors like brown, black, or blonde. They do it with bold colors like pink, purple, red, blue, green, etc.

The dip dye trend first blew up in 2012 and it slowly died down. But like all recurring fashion trends, this one is starting to come back. Dip dye became so popular that the Japanese mixed up different colors to experiment with the trend and a particular color combination is associated to a style. An example is the Rock Look where you wear a pink-purple dip dye together with a biker jacket, leather pants and platforms. There is also a totally kawaii style called the Unicorn Hair wherein you sport a multi-color pastel dip dye that you wrap around braids. There is also a hot pink twintails look, a subtle dip dye look, pop colors and many more. I'm sure you also have your own take on the famous trend.
