Have you ever thought about the Japanese beauty and how it has drastically changed throughout the years? See how the Japanese beauty trends evolved from the white makeup plus thin lips to modern day kawaii.
During the 1910s, the traditional bundled hairstyle called nihongami was popular with the small lip style called ochobochugi in which women only painted the inside of their lips. In the 1960s, the trend for having big looking eyes and big accessories started to come about, together with the volumized hair inspired by the famous pop singer, Chiyo Okumura. In the 1990s, the ganguro style became popular. A total opposite of the past trends, ganguro embraced tan skin and defining makeup. In the 2010s, nowadays, natural makeup and the effortless look is the trending style.
