Takayama Matsuri Spring Festival

The 360-year long celebrated Takayama Matsuri is a float festival that comes twice a year during spring and autumn seasons. This is how locales welcome Spring season after a heavy winter fall. Twelve illuminated, tall floats are displayed in the streets. Performing on the top of several floats, the 19th century mechanical puppets called "Karakuri" highlights the festivity of Takayama.
