Sanno matsuri is one of the three largest and most important festivals of Japan. The main procession called "jinkosai" gathers 300 locales dressed in ancient costumes and parades through the main streets in Tokyo, including Tokyo Station, Ginza, and in front of Diet building, accompanied by mikoshi (portable shrine), floats, people carrying drums, and people on horseback. The week-long festival also offers various traditions such as Ikebana displays, and Japanese tea drinking.
