Sanja Matsuri

Sanja Matsuri is a large mikoshi festival, one of the three great Shinto festivals in Tokyo. It is also considered as a symbolic festival of Tokyo, dedicated for Asakusa Shrine and the three spirits of men who devoted their lives to Buddhist faith. This week long festival is being highlighted with the parade of the sacred palanquin of Asakusa, which is participated by thousands of festival goers.
