Otaue Rice Planting Festival

Praying and expressing gratitude for an abundant harvest, people gather at Japan's food capital Osaka, to enliven the crop spirits and Gods. Other than rice planting, the festival at the Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine is distinctive for its display of rituals in observance of ancient procedures in rice planting fused with dance and music.
