Pop Japan

Japan Media Arts Festival is an annual festival by the Japan Agency for Cultural Affairs, which has been exhibiting since 1979. Every year, it honors outstanding media outputs from animation and comics to media art and games. It has four divisions; Art, Entertainment, Animation, and Manga, in which the festival gives awards in each category. The Japan Media Arts Festival also provides a platform for appreciation of the all the award-winning works. The festival begins with an open competition for each category, to be judged by a jury of artistic peers and other notable personalities. Within each category, one Grand Prize, four excellent prizes, ​and one encouragement prize will be chosen and awarded.
