Hamamatsu Festival/Takoage Gassen (Kite-fighting contest)
Right before spring ends, the great city of Hamamatsu becomes home to the festival of kites. The celebration dates back to the 1600s, wherein people flew countless large kites to honor the birth of a baby son to the Hamamatsu Castle's much-respected Lord.
