Anime enthusiasts and exhibitors gather in the biggest Anime convention in the world, Anime Japan (formerly known as Tokyo International Anime Fair). In the main area, hundreds of TV and film production companies, and game, toy, and software developers featuring their own shows in their exhibition booths. Live shows, special appearances of anime and manga creators, display of collectors' items and character figures, cosplayers and characters voicing excerpts are the much-awaited parts of the fair. Another set of exhibition stage is devoted for shows and concerts, but the audience are determined through a lottery to avoid overcrowding. Some other areas around the convention are provided for smaller shows, concerts, interviews, and shopping. For anime fans who wanted to wear costumes, the convention has a cosplay zone with changing and closet rooms, and photography spots. There are also rental costumes available.
