Named as one of the cutest place on Earth, "Zao Fox Village", opened in 1990. Located in the city of Shiroishio in Miyagi Prefecture, it is home to over hundreds of free-roaming foxes with different species such as platinum foxes, silver foxes, black foxes, arctic foxes as well as the Japanese red fox.
The village is not just surrounded by foxes but there is also a number of animals like rabbits, goats, dogs and many more that is also allowed to pet and feed.
Japan is really a home for irresistibly cute animals including this fox village that allows every visitor to experience the life of the foxes. Visitors may purchase fox food which can feed the foxes for 100 Yen. There are rules on how to feed the foxes, the staff of the area will explain the rules in Japanese but don't worry there are also photos to explain the procedure for visitors who don't understand Japanese.
There are many areas to see the foxes, area to somehow get close to the fox, area to take a photos of the foxes and area to feed them.
With buses infrequent and the nearest station being too far, the recommended place transportation is a taxi ride.
The village is open to the public.
Admission fee is 1000 Yen and additional 100 Yen to feed to foxes.
