Do you have any idea of how a Kabuki Theater looks like? You should go to Shikoku and check it out yourself.
Built in 1916, Uchiko-za Theater consistently operates Kabuki Performances, a classical Japanese dance-drama as well as bunraku performances.
Even without performances, visitors who want to see the amazing design of the theater are allowed to enter the place. Visitors can explore the two-storey wooden building and its unique theatrical structure features.
Make sure to check its doors and some hidden passageways around the stage.
The theater can be reached by a 5-10 minute walk from JR Uchiko Station.
The theater opens at 9:00 to 16:30
It is closed on December 29 to January 2
Admission fee to the theater is 400 Yen and if you want access to the Kamihaga Residence and the history museum, it only cost 900 Yen.
