Considered as Japan's largest exhibition space with a total floor area of 29,412 and world's first ceramic board art museum. It was opened on March 21, 1998 with a collection of more than 1,000 of Western arts on ceramic boards that is from 190 museums in 25 countries.
Ceramic artworks in the museum uses special techniques to maintain its original size and dimension for more than 2000 years.
World's famous art works replica is the main attraction in this museum. One of the highlights would be Michalangelo's ceiling and The Last Judgement in Sistine Chapel in full scale. Along with this is Picasso's "Guernica", Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper in full scale as well.
The museum also offers 9 exhibitions that is consist of Historical Reconstruction and works for the Middle Ages. Museum hShops and information counter were located in the first floor.
From Naruto Station (JR Naruto Line), take a bus bound to Naruto Kohen and get off at the Otsuka Museum of Art bus stop
The museum opens at 9:30 to 17:00. (Last entry is at 16:00) It is closed during Mondays. (Closed during Tuesday if Monday falls on a public holday) *This museum is closed for 5 consecutive days after the New Year Holiday and will be open throughtout August Admission fee is 3,240 Yen (There is a discounted fee for the students) Audio guide players are available in four languages – Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean. Rent is for 500 Yen.
