Are you a history buff? Satisfy your curiosity about Tohoku from the comprehensive archives of this museum, ranging from the late Paleolithic period to modern times. The Tohoku History Museum is also considered the largest historical database about the region.
History fans may enjoy never-before-seen documents, interesting displays and other exhibitions that will remind them of ancient Tohoku. The three exhibition rooms do regular rotations for their displays. There is also a special exhibition in another room which ask for an additional fee.
Take a train from the Tohoku Honsen Line and get off at Kokufutagajo Station, where the museum is just a 5-10-minute walk away.
The museum opens from 9:30 to 17:00. It is closed during Mondays and year end and new year holidays. Admission fee is 400 Yen. Parking lot spaces are also available.
