The Old Hokkaido Government Building

The Old Hokkaido Government Building also known as Akarenga or Red Bricks to local Sapporo citizens was first completed in 1888.

The building was originally modeled on the Massachusetts State House in the USA.

It has contains a number of interesting display rooms including an introduction to the ongoing diplomatic problem of the return of the Northern Territories odd the northern coast of Hokkaido.
