Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki is located in Mito City. It was opened in 1988 with the collection od several art works from Japanese artist such as Yokoyama Taikan, Hishida Shunso, and Ogawa Usen. Japanese style as well as western style paintings can also be seen in this museum.
Aside from paintings, different pieces of art such as in European can also be found in this museum.
Several activities are offered in this museum. There are special exhibitions that are held throughout the year that provide visitors works of arts from other collections. Educational programs such as hands-on experience, host lectures for art information services and lastly, there are also workshops that can be enjoyed by the kids and the whole family.

Museum hours is 9:30 to 17:00 Closed during Mondays and New Year's Holiday Admission fee is 310 Yen.
