Sofuku-ji is a Buddhist temple, associated with the Obaku Zen sect, built by the Chinese community in 1629.
Consequently, this flamboyant building imparts Chinese feel to every visitors. The second among its three gates, and the Daiohoden (Buddha Hall) are designated as National Treasures.
Two temples are also nearby Sofuku-ji: Seisuji and Daikoji.
Sofukuji can be accessed via short walk away from "Shokakuji-shita tram stop".
The temple is open from throughout the year from 8:00 to 17:00, with admission fee of 300 yen.
