Shinsekai is a commercialized neighbourhood located at the downtown of Osaka City. Much like the other night life spots around the country, it is filled with bright lights, stores, restaurants, and the like.
When it was built in 1912, the concept that the builders had was to model the city around internationally-renowned cities, such as New York and Paris.
By the 21st century, Shinsekai had built a reputation of being one of the toughest, most liberated neighborhoods in Japan.
Here are some of the main attractions in Shinsekai:
- Kushikatsu (A well-known food from Osaka)
- Tsutenkaku Tower (Modeled after the Eiffel Tower. It stands at 103 meters high.)
- Spa World (One of the country's leading spa companies)
It's a 10-15-minute walk from the north east of Shin-Imamiya Station (Kansai Main Line).
Opening and closing hours of the establishments in the district vary.
