All throughout Japan, Hokkaido is credited as the nation's pioneering city when it comes to beer. It's no surprise that their main product, Sapporo Beer, is also the nation's oldest and most popular.
From their humble start in 1877, it has now grown into being one of the most widely-known beer brands today. By 1987, the brand has become so global that the brewery opened a museum. It featured a concept that was heavily-influenced from the Meiji Period, but plenty of the sections were also in the English language.
Here are some awesome things to look forward to when visiting the museum:
- Free beer tastings
- Garden Grill Restaurant (located beside the museum)
- Genghis Khan Hall (A beer hall that offers a beer and BBQ all you can meal)
- It's a 20-minute walk from the Naebo Station (Hakodate Main Line)
- In the Kita 5 Johigashi area, it's in the corner of Kita-hachijo Dori and Sapporo Shrine
It is opened from 10:30am to 6:00pm
