Outside Gujo's town center, three different limestone caves are located and this Otaki Cave is the most popular among the three. One of the most popular attraction here is the 30 meter high waterfall which is Japan's tallest underground waterfall.
Walkways are available along the cave to let the visitors see the beauty of the cave. There is also a cable car that allows the passenger up to the cave entrance with lots of walking trails. It takes 30-40 minutes to reach the walkway.
During summer holidays, the cave is crowded with vendors selling souvenirs and restaurants that serves somen noodles.
The Otaki Cave is not accessible by public transportation but you can rent a taxi or a car and travel from the central Gujo.
The cave opens at 8:30 to 17:30 and entry until 17:00 only.
It is closed during the weekends of January and February and on December 26 to January 1
