During the 1972 Winter Olympics, the Okurayama Ski Jump serves as the stage for the 90 meter jump competition held in Sopporo.
Now, it serves as the home of many international competitions. Top class jumpers all over the world have set their records here.
When the stadium is not being use for the World cup or ski jump competition, visitors are allowed to access to the peak of the mountain that gives an amazing view of Sapporo. It can be reached via a chair lift.
Sapporo Winter Sports Museum also sits in the foot of the jump hill that exhibits information about the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics that includes ski jump, bobsled, and biathlon. The museum also provides variety of fun sports which doesn't have additional cost.
From the Tozai Subway Line's Maruyama Koen Station, take bus line 14 to Okurayama Kyogijo Iriguchi bus stop and from there, you can reach the ski jump stadium in a 10 minute walk.
The observatory deck that is open to the public when the ski jump is not being used opens at 8:30 to 18:00 from April 29 to November 3 and 9:00 to 17:00 from November 4 to April 28.
It is closed on April 6 to 17 Chairlift ticket cost 500 Yen for roundtrip
Sapporo Winter Sports Museum opens at 9:00 to 18:00 from May to October and 9:30 to 17:00 from November to April.
