The National Bunraku is a classic piece of Osaka. A traditional puppet theater for hundreds of years, the auditorium has been popular since the Edo Period, a time when Bunraku was just another form of art entertainment. With the exclusivity of what they present to their every day audience, they have strongly established a following, not just from Osaka or Japan, but in the whole world as well. The great reviews they have been receiving have always been consistent, and with the type of fascination they create, it shows no signs of slowing down.
The theatre will provide everyone English programs and earphones during the program. Keep in mind that the performances are held three times during these months: January, April, June, July, August, and November.
It's a 5-8-minute walk from the Kintetsu Nippombashi Station (Subway Sennichimae Line)
The opening hours depend from the schedule of the featured program(s). The Exhibit Room is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
