Selected as one of the 100 attractive Mountains of Japan is Mt. Hayachine or the mountain of the Gods with a 1917 meters high located in the east of Morioka city. Mt. Hayachine is the highest peak in the Kitakami mountain range that is consisted of several peaks from east to west.
The mountain is also known for its various kinds of alphine flora blooming in the mountain surroundings that's why this mountain is also selected as one of the Top 100 Mountains for Flowers in Japan.
There are several available courses to enjoy hiking on the mountains. There is an easy course that can let you to reach the summit for 3 hours. Recommended time to visit the mountain is during summer that offers an elegant paronamic view of the blooming of greenery plants.
From Morioka station, take a train on the Yamada line and get off at Hiratsuto station.
Visitors should make a detailed plan as early as possible before hiking the mountain and take enough equipment as conditions can become dangerous due to the weather. Bring first aid and enough food for energy while hiking the mountain. Prepare your feet and wear comfortable shoes.
