The Mitaki-Dera Temple is among the many historic temples of Hiroshima, Japan Commonly called one of the city's "hidden gems," it's a place where you can always find peace. The beautiful surroundings and calmness will let you relax your mind, body, and spirit. It was built in 809, almost a year before the short-but-influential Daido era ended. In the famous Chugoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage, the Mitaki-Dera is listed 13th.
Along with the greenery, the super zen atmosphere, and the images and statues of key buddhist figures, you'll get your eyes and hands full of blaze red leaves; the Mitaki-Dera Temple is surrounded by them.
It's about 900m-100km away to the west of Mitaki Station (Kabe Line).
The temple is open 24/7.
