Mifuneyama Garden or Mifuneyama Rakuen is located at the base of the rugged cliff of Mt. Mifune in Takeo City. The flower garden is colorful during spring, with 5000 cherry blossom trees and 50,000 azaleas blooming and sprawled in the area. On the eastern foot of the mountain called Mifunegaoka Plum Grove, there are 10,000 plum trees waiting to surprise every visitor. The autumn nights are also best, when the maple trees are illuminated.
The park holds various events such as tea parties, illuminations, and photography sessions. There is also a pond near, full of dancing koi.
The nearest train station is Takeo-Onsen Station (JR Sasebo Line). You can ride a bus bound for Ureshino Onsen, and alight to Mifuneyama Rakuen stop.
The garden is open daily, from 8:00 to 17:30. Entrance costs 400 yen for adult, 200 yen for elementary students and younger.
