In the center of Fukushima is where the fourth largest lake in Japan is located with about 14 KM from north to south and 10KM from east to west and its surface at the level of 514 meters that's why it is listed as one of the highest lakes in Japan.
The lake is also known as Heaven Mirror Lake because of the transparency that reflect the sky like a mirror.
Around the lake, you can enjoy its scenery by marine sports, camping, water skiing, and lake bathing during spring and an amazing view of swans during summer.
From April to November, tour boats are operated located in Nagahama in the north coast.
It's a tourist destination in any season of the year.
Take a train from the JR Ban’etsu West Line and get off at Inawashiro Station. From there, take the bus and get off at Nagahama bus stop, where the lake is just a short walk away.
