Located near Izu Peninsula, in the now-extinct volcano Mt. Omuro, the 20-hectare park is both a botanical and a zoological garden.
On the outside, the Izu Shaboten Koen may look like your everyday park, but on the inside, it can be one of the most interesting parks you've ever seen. It features five pyramid-style greenhouses with more than 1,500 types of cacti and succulent plants.
Here are the other attractions in the Izu Cactus Park:
- Their animal population, which includes pelicans, kangaroos, chimpanzees, and more, most of which can be seen hanging around.
- Dog shows - Restaurants/Cafes
It's a 5-10minute walk to east of Piedmont Station.
Opened from 8:15am to 6:30pm
