Manga lover? It is recommended to visit this Manga Museum in Ishinomaki City which is dedicated to the manga artist Ishinomori Shotaro who created several influential manga series such as Cyborg 009 and Kamen Rider.
The museum is also an origin point for manga culture known throughout the world as well as a place of cultural exchange.
The museum displays a collection of comics, statues and artworks from numerous manga series. It also displays a full-sized replica of Mr. Ishomori's hands and a number of permanent exhibits.
There are landscapes and characters of some manga series, visitors can also see some cartoonists such as Shotaro Ishinomori, Osamu Tezuka, and Fujiko Fujio.
Various events for comic lovers from all around the world are held here.
You can reach the museum in a 10-15 minute walk from Ishinomaki Station of East Japan Railway.
The museum opens at 9:00 to 18:00 and until 17:00 during December and February. It is closed every third Tuesday of the month and every Tuesday from December to February. Admission fee is 800 Yen.
