Honma Residence

The former Honma Residence, a placid and elegant family mansion of Honma clan, has now converted into a museum.

Thanks to the wealth of the local daimyo, this merchant family's villa was built on 1768. Now, it is used as the official Sakata guesthouse.

The villa is 5 minutes on foot from JR Sakata Station.

Admission

Honma Residence is open from 9:00 to 17:00, and closes earlier on winter. Admission fee is 900 yen.
