Located at the southern slope of Mount Fuji, The Fuji Safari Park is considered the largest and the most popular safari parks in Japan.
Like a usual safari park in Japan, visitors of the park can take a safari through the habitats of freely roaming animans that includes lions, tigers, bears, giraffes elphants, zebras, chetahs and many more.
Roaming around the safari park can have you many choices, it can be by your own car, a rental car, by bus or by foot.
For the bus tour, visitors are allowed to feed the bears and lions with vagetable or fruits through the window of the bus.
For a car for rent, there is an available sports car in the park that is painted like a zebra that has a self guided tour through the safari zone.
By foot, walking trail is available around the safari zone that is open from late march to November. The tour takes 2 hours and along the way visitors can look out ar the animals in their habitats. Visitors can also purchased food to feed the animals that cost 100 to 500 Yen.
The park also offers night safari wherein visitors can enter the safari zone by their own car, rental car or bus tour until 19:30 and from 20:00, special bus tours are held to let the visitors witness the animals' behavior in the dark.
Aside from the animals itself, the park also offers activities such as horse riding, pony rising, picture taking or playing around with the animals cush as dog, cat etc. But take note the it has a different cost,
By train, ride the Tokaido shinkansen to Mishima station and from there , ride a local bus bond to the Fuji Safari Park.
The Fuji Safari Park opens at 9:00 to 17:00 from Mid April through September, 9:00 to 16:30 during October and 10:00 to 15:30 from November to mid April the following year.
If you want to experience the night safari, it is until 20:00 on selected days.
It has no closing days but the night safari is only offered on weekends from mid April through October and everyday during summer holidays.
Admission fee is 2700 yen during daytime, 1700 yen on the night safari and 3700 yen for both.
NOTE that bus tours and other activities have diffrent fees. There is not additional fee if you take your car to explore the safari park. The bus tour cost 1300 Yen, the rental car cost 5000 Yen and the walking tour cost 500 yen per person.
