Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park at the foot of Mt. Fuji at Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture operating since 1961. One of Japan's most popular theme parks, Fuji-Q Highland is best known for its thrilling rides including the three major roller coasters, anime themed rides and attractions.
There are numerous “Guiness-level” attractions, including “eejanaika,” the roller coasting boasting the highest total number of spins in the world, “FUJIYAMA” “DODONPA,” and “Super Scary Labyrinth of Fear 4.0.” (haunted hospital).
Fujiyama is the park's centerpiece attraction, it was the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster when it opened in 1996, and it continues to rank among the best coasters in the world. Takabisha can also found here, built in 2011, the steepest roller coaster in the world, dropping at an angle of 121 degrees. The park also has several large scale entertainment attractions such as “Super Scary Labyrinth of Fear 4.0 (haunted hospital)" which is about one hour tour of an old hospital, one of the world's largest and scariest haunted attraction. Seasonal attractions, such as an ice skating rink, are also available. Restaurants, rest areas, souvenir shops and carnival games are spread out around the park. One area of the park is home to Thomas Land, a train themed zone that features child friendly rides and attractions including the Thomas and Percy Train Ride, the Thomas Land 3D Theater, and a variety of small rides and other kid related activities.
From the Otsuki and Kawaguchiko Stations, the park is 5-10 minutes away.
Fuji-Q Highland opens at 9:00 to 17:00, until 18:00 on weekends and holidays. Closing days depends on the park. Admission fee is 1400 Yen (Enytance only), 5200 Yen (Entrance + unlimited rides). NOTE: Individual rides usually cost around 400 and 1000 Yen per ride. Fujiyama Museum opens 10:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, 10:00 to 20:30 during Saturdays and 9:00 to 20:30 during Sundays and holidays. Admission ends 30 minutes before closing. Closing days may vary. Admission fee is 100 Yen.
