With the vast flower fields of Farm Tomita in Furano, Hokkaido, you'll never run out of things to discover.
This dreamland is filled with various kinds of flowers landscaped like a wide never-fading rainbow. Hence, among its seven fields and gardens, the most photogenic parts are the Irodori field and the Traditional Lavender Garden.
Aside from lavenders, flowers planted include grape blossoms, poppies and lupins that blooms from July, and sunflowers, salvias and cosmos from August to September.
As mentioned, there are seven fields that makes up Farm Tomita. The Forest field holds lavenders and poppies on a hill surrounded by coniferous woods.
Hanabito field is covered by ornamental bulbs and violas during spring, and exchanged by the blooming of marigolds and other perpetual flowers in autumn.
Sakiwai Field is in the middle part of the field, growing varieties of lavender that makes different tint and gradations of violet. It is also named as "happiness field."
Irodori Field will never fail to astound all visitors. Seven perfectly aligned flowers in different hues blankets the entire hill which includes lavender, white baby's breath, red poppies, pink garden catchflies, and orange California poppies.
Other fields include Traditional Lavender Garden, Spring Field, Autumn Field. There are also gardens that can inspire you to build your own dream garden, namely, Hanabito Garden, Greenhouse, and Mother's Garden.
There are also houses where you can rest, view dried flowers, buy souvenirs, eat Hokkaido's delicacies, and taste their very own soft-serve lavender ice cream!
Visitors may also visit the nearby Lavender East, 4 km east of Farm Tomita, in the direction of the Tokachi Mountains.
Ride a bus from Asahikawa Airport (Hokkaido's Airport) to JR Furano Station (1 Hour). "Nakafurano" is the closest bus stop, served by Furano Bus.
The best time to visit is from warm months of June to August, where the flowers are in full bloom.
