Wisteria or widely known as Fuji in Japan is the main feature of this flower park located in Ashikaga City in Tochigi Prefecture. This 9-hectare park is considered one of the best places to view the blooming fuji flowers with a variety of colors like blue, white, pink, and yellow. Other flowers are also featured in this park.
The popular wisteria tunnel is also found in the park with 80 meters long that let the visitors walk and view the amazing fuji flowers.
Ashikaga Flower Park has more than 350 fuji during the peak season. The most popular attraction in this park is the wisteria tunnel that allows the visitors to walk and enjoy the beauty of Japan's most popular flowers as they passed by.
The 140-year-old Great Moracle Wisteria is also found inside the park that also create a huge umbrella of fuji flowers.
There are also several walkways along the park. As visitors walk, they will see this flower pyramid pond located in the center of the park.
In the past years, the park is also popular in the winter season for the winter illumination display wherein there are thousands of multi-colored LED lights, covering the flowers, through the walkways and even arranged in a creative objects.
The park is a 15-20-minute walk from Tomita Station (JR Ryomo Line). Note that during its peak season, there's a free shuttle bus in Ashikaga Station.
The fuji usually bloom in the beginning of May. Remember, crowd of people is expected to visit during this season. The park opens at 9:00 to 18:00 from March to late November and 10:00 to 17:00 from late November to February It is closed on the first Wednesday and Thursday of February and December 31 The admission fee is depending on the season but its typically around 300 to 1700 Yen
