Facing the Pacific Ocean in the city of Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture is where this environmental aquarium is located. It exhibits aquatic animals that was kept close to their natural habitats, most especially a variety of fish species.
Basically, the idea of Aquamarine Fukushima is to reproduce the natural aquatic environment.
One section of the aquarium exhibited the diverse animal and plant life of the Fukushima Prefecture. The aquarium mainly keeps a rare collection of fishes and sea creatures.
There is also a pool where visitors are allowed to touch starfishes, marine mammals, seals and walruses.
From the Yumoto Station, take a bus bound to Onahama and get off at the Onahama bus stop. From there, you can reach the aquarium by 15-20 minute walk.
The Aquamarine Fukushima opens at 9:00 to 17:30 and til 17:00 only on December 1 to March 20.
It has no closing days.
