Love comes in many forms. We all have different preferences and views when marriage is the topic being talked about. Some girls would even have their dream weddings. However, some expresses unparalleled weirdness in their once-in-a-lifetime event by marrying objects, setting-up weird wedding themes, and even including an animal to their wedding rites.
So, as promised, here's the list of bizaare marriages that have happened and at least relates to Japan.
A South Korean and his wifey pillow purchased from Japan
Sure, pillow gives us a comforting warmth, but how could this 28-year old South Korean Lee Jin-gyu feel in love with his giant pillow? His pillow-wife depicts his favorite TV vixen Fate Testarossa from the series Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. before they tied the knot, they've been dating for six years. Sure, they have a lot of pillowtalk with that span.
In their wedding, Lee had dressed his bride with a wedding dress, walked down the aisle, exchanged vows, and united by a real priest.
Two robots sealed it with a kiss
Could robots fall in love? Well, Japan has had its first ever wedding with two robots as their bride and groom. They even invited Pepper the robot to be their bridesmaid. They ended the ceremony with a kiss-- the groom extended his metal mouth to kiss his girl, real quick.
Newly weds hired an Alpaca to be their witness
You can actually hire an Alpaca to be your witness, in a hotel in Japan, Epinard Nasu in Tochigi. After the wedding, these cute white alpacas wearing shiny bowties will be returned to the local zoo, which is only located next door.
A videogame character is his other half
Another anime-adjunct named himself Sal 9000 married a videogame character, Nene Anegasaki, in his Nintendo DS game called "Love Plus" in 2009.
Their wedding wasn't an ordinary one, he knows that he cannot physically or legally marry the character but he's completely fell in love with the character, not the machine, so he married Nene in front of Web users watching their "wedding ceremony" live, making it the first human-avatar nuptial.
In the courtship stage, Sal even took Nene around Tokyo, to Disneyland, and even had a date on Guam. That's how their deep relationship started.
Groomzilla kisses his bride
Couples often invest time in thinking their wedding themes. This one obviously loved the giant reptile Godzilla, to the extent that the groom wore a headdress of the lizard in the ceremony itself.
Groomzilla is an urban word for an unreasonably demanding groom that expresses themselves even in the smallest details of the wedding ceremony and reception. He may have had literally become a groomzilla, but his wife still loves him so much. How sweet!
