1. Shio Ramen
Shio literally translates to salt which describes the taste of the ramen and the Japanese love it that way. The broth is usually clear yellow, with chicken or pork as its base. Known for its clear brown broth made from beef or vegetables, shoyu ramen is the most common type of ramen you can find around Japan. Added with lots of soy sauce, the taste is known to be salty and savory at the same time. You can also opt to add spices to spice up your ramen. Topped with beef and vegetables, you’ll surely end up with a full stomach.

Chicken or fish broth combined with miso is also a delicacy for the Japanese. Its thick broth produces a slight sweet flavor and the noodles? Very chewy and flavorful. You won’t go wrong with adding ground pork, onions, and corn atop of your miso ramen.
