We've been used to the savory, fresh flavor of sushi as it came to being, but have you heard of versions that are oozing with sweet flavor? Here, we gathered some of the sushi desserts that you can try making on your own.
So here are some delectable sushi dessert ideas that will stimulate your sweet tooth and make you run to the nearest grocery store later.
1. Frushi
Here's how to make frushi: Cook sticky rice or sushi rice, add it with vanilla and coconut milk afterwards. Get a bamboo mat for sushi and place a wax paper and then spread the sticky rice, arrange the fruits and roll! Next, sprinkle it with slightly toasted coconut bits of coconut or coat it with sliced mango. Lastly, slice it into bite size, (you can squeeze it like nigiri), top with fruits and serve! Enjoy!
2. Sweet Candy Sushi
There are lots of versions of candy sushi, and you can try making your own! Mix candies you like, replace sticky rice with white marshmallows, and form it like sushi.
3. Rice crispie sushi
This recipe is much alike candy sushi, but instead of marshmallows replacing the sticky rice, the base ingredient will be white rice crispies partnered with gummy candies.
4. Banana nutella sushi
Simply coat the wrapper with nutella, and roll the banana on it. Chop and top with fresh fruits.
Another version: coat the banana with nutella, sprinkle the fruit with nuts or crispies, chop, and top more fruits!
5. Donut sushi
Level up your donuts into sushi! Simply chop, and then add jam or fruits as toppings.
6. Waffle sushi
The waffle will hold the cream and fruits--excellent!
7. Peanut Butter Apple Cinnamon Sushi Rolls
Roll pin in bread, spread some peanut butter, add chopped apples--roll! Sprinkle cinnamon powder to add flavor and aroma to your sweet snack.
8. Mango and Coconut Sticky Rice Sushi
Cook the sticky rice with coconut milk, form the rice like sushi, and top it with mango strips!
9. Chocolate Sushi
This one comes with different versions. The chocolate may serve as the "seaweed", or the one's inside the roll.
10. Key Lime Dessert Sushi
This one needs a plain vanilla cake (make it thin by using rolling pin), then spread the filling made from thickened sugar, flour, egg, water and key lime juice. Roll the cake, chop, and top it with whipped cream and lime or fruits of your choice.
Either savory or sweet, sushi will always be the food for everyone!
