Japanese popular singer Junichi Inagaki released his ballad When the Christmas Carols Play (Kurisumasu kyaroru koro ni wa) in 1992. The song was featured on a variety of drama programs and garnered several advertisements on Japanese Television. Now, it has continued as one of the most popular holiday songs in Japan.

Heart of X’mas by Masaharu Fukuyama

Released: 1998

Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actor Masaharu Fukuyama, released his thirteenth single Heart of Xmas on November 5, 1998. The song landed at number 4 on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart.

Itsuka no Merry Christmas by B’z

Released: 1992

B’z (pronounced as Bīzu) is a Japanese rock duo and is one of the best-selling music artists in the world. The people behind B’z are Takahiro "Tak" Matsumoto, the guitarist, composer and producer, and Koshi Inaba as the vocalist and lyricist. The duo were recognized because of their energetic hard-rock tracks and pop ballads. Under their fourth mini-album Friends,

the track Itsuka no Merry Christmas rose to fame because of getting 500,000+ downloads, as certified by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). The album also sold 1,355,530 copies and reached number 1 at the Oricon charts.

Silent Eve by Midori Karashima

Released: 1997

Silent Eve was the seventh single released by Japanese pop singer-songwriter, lyricist and composer, Karashima Midori.   The single became a big hit and ranked as number 1 on the Oricon Charts. Several months later, she was awarded the Best 5 Singles Award at the Annual Japan Golden Discs Award.

White Love by Speed

Released: 1998

Japanese girl group Speed, released their single entitled White Love on October 16, 1997. The single ranked as the 10th best-selling single in Japan at the Oricon Weekly Singles Charts and sold an enormous total number of 1.845 million copies.

Shazna - White Silent Night

Released: 1997

Japanese triplet rock band Shazna (pronounced as Shazuna), released their third single White Silent Night on December 3, 1997.

It is astonishing how music can mirror our thoughts, movements and feelings. Music acts as a channel to solidify our bonds. Christmas season is one of the best time to make us connect with the significant people in our lives.
