We often describe robots as hard, metallic, tinny, stiff products of big brains and larger-than-life technology. Due to the proliferation of robots in Japan, it is not too farfetched to think that these robots, powered with artificial intelligence, might take over the roles of humans, such as the job of being a receptionist.
Here's a look on these bit eerie but very helpful receptionist-humanoid robots that are taking over Japan!

Chichirojunco is the receptionist and information guide of the commercial complex in Aqua City, Odaiba. She can speak and understand three languages, such as English, Japanese and Chinese. (A polyglot it is!)

Another humanoid from Toshiba, ChichiraAiko is designed to converse, sing, play classical music, and look after people. Among all female humanoids, she has the most realistic and precise facial expressions. She can also converse through sign language!

They may be creepy, but they are harmless and can be a great help to us! Have you met one of them? Tell us our "robotic encounter" story!
