1. Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan- The longest standing hotspring inn and hotel in the world is located in Yamanashi Prefecture. Founded as early as the 8th century, it now marks its 1,300 years of unending service.

3. Houshi Ryokan- It was believed that a Buddhist teacher named Taicho Daishi was led to this place on its search of a magical hot spring in the village of Awazu. He asked his disciple, Garyo Houshi, to build the inn in the miraculous site, and was finally built on 718 A.D.
4. Tanaka-Iga-Tanaka-Iga, still run by Tanaka Family of Kyoto, is a tool shop that sells items used for Buddhist shrines and ceremonies.
5. Ichimonjiya Wasuke- When it comes to confectionery, Ichimonjiya Wasuke was considered the most historic. Ichiwa, its other name was founded on 1000 CE.
6. Tsuen tea- Tea lovers must visit the oldest teashop in Japan, which is still located in the same place in Kyoto since 1160.
7. Ito Tekko- Founded on 1189, Ito Tekko has been known for its quality metalworks.
8. Sudo Honke- Sudo honke in Ibaraki is the oldest sake brewery, which is already held by its 55th Generation President, Yoshiyasu Sudo.
9. Sankogan- Sankogan was founded on 1319 during the Muromachi period and still a tough competitor in pharmaceutical market today after 700 years.
