“In this world, we’re all our very own, individual heroine.” – Hatori Matsuzaki
Heroine Shikkaku was the first film that we watched during our foreign language class. Watching it with your classmates, laughing and enjoying every part of it made it a memorable experience, plus the fact that it’s a romantic-comedy movie.
It’s a story of a female high school student, Hatori Matzumaki, who believed her life was like in manga, where she was the heroine. Since childhood, she had a crush on her classmate, Rita Terasaka, and so she was imagining him as the hero. This situation changes when Adachi entered the story, taking Hatori’s role as the heroine. The love triangle started as Rita Terasaka began dating Adachi. Meanwhile, Konosuke Hiromitsu, the most popular male student in their school, took an interest in Hatori.
Here’s my review of the movie.
Story
It was a typical type of high school love story. What made it different and sparkling was that it had a lot of twists and turns, plus it had a lot of animations and sound effects. What I did not like in this story was how much each character hated Adachi-san, who later on became the villain in this movie, when in fact, she was the “victim” in the first half. It’s just that she was stuck between the love story of the other two characters, who didn’t admit that they fell in love with each other, since childhood. (I’m pertaining to Rita in this part.) Overall it’s a funny, kawaii and bubbly movie that you should watch!
Actors/Acting
The actors and its characters were perfect! They had given each role justice, making you love and hate them with the character they were potraying. Hands up to Mirei Kiritani who played the role of Hatori, who’s acting was so funny, but still kawaii. It’s the first time I watched Kento, which according to my friend was a handsome and good actor. This movie has proven that he really was a bishounen (Japanese handsome guy). I will definitely watch his other movies too.
Soundtrack
The sweet song of this movie was sang by Nishino Kana. It fit the movie perfectly, which added up on the romantic feels of the film.
Whether you love manga or not, this movie is a great movie to watch!
