"Form over function." This is the philosophy of VIP cars when it comes to style.
How lowered is "low"? Yes, these cars are low. But they are lowered for a reason. They are called VIP-styled cars. Expensive automobiles are sometimes modified and lowered in stance by replacing its wheels with wider ones. This VIP style of car modification is usually done to Japanese luxury car models like the Nissan President, Nissan Gloria, Toyota Crown, Toyota Celsior, etc.
Also known in Japanese as bippu, the style is actually associated to the yakuzas during the old times. Such design, which is a combination of the look of domestic market cars and the luxurious limousine, yakuzas or gangsters can hide from the prying eyes of the authorities.
Nowadays, the VIP style still remained in the car industry, not to serve gangsters but as a form of luxury car designing.
