The Subaru BRZ is actually one of the hybrid Japanese cars ever existed, being a product of a joint development with Toyota, but wassolely manufactured by Subaru. Thus it is known as Toyota 86 in Asia, South Africa, North and South America, and Australia. In Europe, it went with the name GT86. In Nicaragua and Jamaica, it was more popularly known as the FT86. It went by the name Scion FR-S in the United States and Canada. It eventually became known as the Subaru BRZ with the rest of the world.
