Nissan introduces the ‘Choimobi Yokohama’, a car sharing service in operation within 14 locations around Yokohama Station. This service uses ultra-compact electric vehicles, the 25 Nissan New Mobility Concepts. The service also aims to encourage low emission, improve transportation, promote tourism and to build sustainable business model through public-private cooperation.
There are several requirements to become a user such as registering in the Choimobi website, valid Japanese driver’s license, a smartphone, and a Japan-issued credit card. The car will be restricted on highways and can only drive within the city of Yokohama.
The project started on March 17, 2017 and will end on March 2019.
