N700 Series Shinkansen is a high-speed Japanese Shinkansen (train). It was built for Japan Railways Group companies JR Central and JR-West for use on the Tokaido and San'yo Shinkansen lines since 2007, and also operated by JR Kyushu on the Kyushu Shinkansen line with a tilting capability.
It tilts up to one degree to allow the N700 to keep up a higher speed while cornering. The N700 series have a maximum speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) and has reduced end-to-end journey times accordingly.
The amount of noise of the N700 was also minimized for the benefit of the passengers and also the environment.
